thoughts of the universe
i was reading james lovelock’s gaia last night before bed, and when i’d finished i just lay there in the dark and felt so much awe and pride for my own, and everything else’s, existence. i had to write some of these thoughts down:

me: ahh i can finally have that blissful lie-in i've been craving tomorrow
body: rise and shine, it's six a.m.!
ears: listen to all those tweety birds
stomach: i'm huuungry
brain: let's think about completely random bollocks
limbs: we're so uncomfortable in every position
stomach: feeed meee

"Be humble for you are made of Earth; be noble for you are made of stars."
— serbian proverb

"I think we’re going to the moon because it’s in the nature of the human being to face challenges. It’s by the nature of his deep inner soul… we’re required to do these things, just as salmon swim upstream."
— the late and great neil armstrong
