my friend got a huge trampoline for free
it’s now taken pride of place in his garden, and the other night - after our caribbean meal and day of hot sunshine - a bunch of us crowded onto it and chilled there with a few beers while the evening sun set and the stars came out, with lights wrapped around the edge and summer music in our ears. wonderful ♥
just absolutely destroyed my palaeoecology exam! one question was about sea urchin bumholes. six down, three to go! the yummy weather better wait around for us to finish ♥

having my dad’s irish genes, i have always been extremely fair-skinned and have never tanned, even in the sunniest of weather. don’t get me wrong, i love my milkiness most of the time; it’s who i am, and if i was ashamed of the colour of the stuff that will cover my body for my entire life, i doubt i’d be such a happy bunny. but occasionally - namely in summer, when the...
i just found an old photo of my grandma
she looks so lovely and it’s so wonderful to see her face again, but i feel incredibly sad. i wish she had been able to live longer, because i can only imagine the conversations we could have had together - all i have are my memories of her singing my favourite lullaby to me in her lovely irish voice, pulling on the hems of her paisley skirts and watching her waltz around the kitchen to her...

today is amazing
smashed my biggest exam this morning, had delicious soul-warming caribbean food in the bay, a couple of cold pints in cwtch bar, a lovely stroll in the sun.. and looking forward to more pub-garden times in a little while! j’adore le soleil ♥
bumble-a-bee replied to your post: every student-rented property around here comes with so much random tat in the garden Ours has a side of a shed/an old sink/the classic traffic cone/a chimney and a large plank of wood :P Lets do this! YES. bring it all to the ‘diff and we’ll build a rocket!

seriously, our house came with a mangled pub umbrella, a tyre, a broken table, a wheelbarrow and a ladder (through the window of the shed). it must be our landlord’s old stuff, or just things that have been thrown over the walls - other peoples’ gardens are even more of a scrapyard! i propose we use this to our advantage, form teams, club all our garden-tat together, and hold a...

i just finished vacuuming my room to perfection and picked up the vacuum to take it back downstairs, when the dust chamber decided to fall off, pop open and *poof* ..everywhere. on the plus side, i found five pence!

apparently it’s a type of mining, but we reckon our lecturer just threw it in to make sure we were actually awake. someone took a photo of it as she explained to us, “you wouldn’t want a glory hole in the middle of a town, that’s for sure.. it would cause havoc!”

THAT’S RIGHT, MY LITTLE FRIENDS i’m back from two tentacle-tastic weeks in spain - climbing mountains, cleaning pubs out of ceverza & sidra, and gorging ourselves on octopus and chorizo! luarca was a lavely fishing town in which we perfected the art of cider-pouring (you have to do it from a height into the glass to make it fizzy), swam in the river that runs through the town...
may the 4th be with you.
back to england tomorrow!
by now i’m probably so completely worn out that i cannot wait. i’ll post piccies and everything as soon as i can muster up the energy! ♥

hola again, another (totally not pre-mediated) update to let you know that i am now up in the lovely cantabrian mountains, probably being rained on a lot, with no make-up and completely wild hair! i bet i’ve turned feral and been taken in by a family of bears. it’s probably really lovely here; well, i hope it is. from googling it beforehand i know that it’s a really cute...
