“Top hats have been fashionable for almost 200 years, but when the first one was worn in 1797 by James Heatherington, he was immediately arrested and fined 50 pounds for behaving in a manner ‘calculated to frighten timid people’.”—QI fact of the day.
the other day i was waiting on the platform for a train and there was a stereotypical metalhead standing a few metres away - with long dark hair, baggy black jeans and a black band hoodie - air-drumming along with the music he was listening to. he was getting more and more violent with the drumming and people were starting to glance over, when he suddenly burst into a full-out mosh right there on the platform, thrashing his head around, spinning about and going absolutely nuts. people were backing away in fear for their lives, it was amazing. you go, freaky metal kid.
so it's half eight in the morning and i just got in
still drunk, people are walking around outside, never even went to glam in the end. ended up in live lounge with caroline & her flatmate and stayed there all night because every single song was my favourite, then just spent over four hours in their flat watching smosh videos & family guy and god knows what else. throwing glow-in-the-dark condoms around. best night out i have ever had in my liiiife! i need sleeeeeeeeep. and water. lots of water. hnnnngh
everyone’s had exams this week so tonight is the night! predrinks & beer pong in our kitchen with everyone (god knows how many people haha) then mad-dash-in-the-cold-to-the-taxi and BOOM. bring it on, cardiff! ♥
i luurve my free fridays! it’s already gone one, and i’m a bit tiddly from playing beer pong for the fourth night since i got back - but a movie or book is definitely on the cards before bed, followed by a lie-in until midday, casual bolognese for dinner and a night out at glam. UNAAAY
how can you be daft enough to even try comparing a shallow, badly-written romance series about “vampires” to a deep & continued magical work of genius which tackles the concepts of good and evil in such an amazing way? honestly. it’s pretty clear which will end up a classic.
twilight’s a mere teen fad. harry potter is forever.
being a student is a right whirlwind of suitcases and stray belongings sometimes. i can’t believe my month of holiday is already over! tomorrow i plunge once more into the delightful land of lectures, dodgy meals, mental nights out and groggy, hungover mornings. my fresher’s blog will be once more kick-started; so if you haven’t already, head on over and hit “follow” to stay up-to-date with all things uni-related! ♥
